The Story
LAGRIOT talks about the places it inhabits.
It all started as a small coffee in downtown Madrid, and evolved until today as a plural design studio with an itinerant character, as it has grown and developed in different cities such as Miami, Madrid, Bogota, or Valencia. With this premise, our identity is very open and has been nourished by different cultures and landscapes that play a significant role in many collections and are inevitably reflected in the soul of our pieces, where all our designs tell a story.
A griot is a storyteller from West Africa. Traditionally, she/he was the person in charge of transmitting the stories and legends from generations. They are the guardians of the oral tradition and must have the ability to improvise on current events and everything around them. They are authentic repositories of community history.
We aim to elevate the everyday and the authentic, acknowledging that each person has a different story to tell. Founded on the belief that constant inspiration is the key to our design, at the heart of our work is the sincere desire to imbue the wearers with confidence, elegance, and joy.
In our creative process, we give room to a wide range of graphic expressions such as the mixed-media illustrations that we later capture in the goods that we create.
We like the duality of the scarf; lightweight and at the same time strong, capable of elevate any attire by endowing it with character. It is inclusive, genderless, and timeless. It contains a strong statement that changes your appearance in a bold way. It is the icing on the cake!

We are driven to create products people love to own.
A line that celebrates the diversity and contrasts of our nature into a wearable statement, LAGRIOT wants to create a space that favors the fusion of visual richness, quality, and comfort.
We would like to convey a positive feeling with the goods that we create by bringing a conglomeration of positive qualities by blending joy, color, functionality, and quality together.
We produce locally which allows us to control the entire manufacturing process closely and ensure that they are produced in the most sustainable way possible.
Each scarf has been, digitally printed and hemmed in Spain. Each design is printed in small batches on a 100% recycled fabric.
From fabrication to design, all of our collections are designed in house by founder Laura T.
